Excavation company faces court over underpayments
The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action against an
excavation business and its sole director. Alledging they underpaid
an employee and failed to pay termination correctly. The company
faces a maximum penalty of $31,500, while the sole director faces a
maximum penalty of $6,300.
New whistleblower laws now apply
New whistleblower laws now clarify company responsibilities and
encourage individuals to blow the whistle on corporate misconduct.
They also require some businesses to have a detailed whistleblower
policy in place from 1 January this year.
North Parramatta pizza outlet faces court
The directors and shareholders of Crust Pizza in western Sydney
are now facing court action after failing to comply with a
Compliance Notice requiring the company to calculate and back-pay
employees.
Perth franchisee faces court over employee underpayments and breaching pay slip laws
The Fair Work Ombudsman has commenced legal action against
the former franchisee and the general manager of the Han’s Café
Rockingham outlet over employee underpayments and breaches of pay
slip laws.
