17.5% in
 2014-15, according to the latest Fair
Work Commission Annial Report.

Baiada to pay $500,000 to contractors

Australia’s largest chicken supplier, Baiada, will pay $500,000
towards compensating the underpayment of workers following exposure
of wide-spread unlawful practices by contractors at its
worksites.

Fair Work Inspectors target Darwin

Fair Work Inspectors will audit up to 50 random businesses
in Darwin this week to  check that
employers are paying the correct minimum hourly rates, penalty
rates, allowances, loadings and providing appropriate meal
breaks.

$10k in fines for underpaying worker

$10k in fines for underpaying worker

More than $10,000 in fines have been imposed after an ugg
boot retailer paid an overseas worker in Sydney just $8 an
hour. The Fair Work Ombudsman took legal action after the
employee lodged a request for assistance. The employee was
subsequently back-paid in full.

Melbourne 7-Eleven latest to face court for breaching employment laws

A Melbourne 7-Eleven store operator is the latest to face court
for allegedly breaching employment laws. Last financial year the
Fair Work Ombudsman filed two litigations against 7-Eleven stores
and entered into an Enforceable Undertaking with a third. In
addition, Fair Work inspectors issued three Compliance Notices, 13
Infringement Notices (on-the-spot fines) and 16 Letters of Caution
to 7-Eleven store operators.
