Fair Work Inspectors will audit up to 50 businesses in Darwin this week as part of a new campaign to check that employers are paying the correct minimum hourly rates, penalty rates, allowances, loadings and providing appropriate meal breaks.
Compliance with record-keeping and pay-slip obligations will also be monitored.
The campaign will focus on employers across a range of sectors, including building and industrial cleaning services, cafes and restaurants and fast food.
All businesses will be randomly selected.
