At Better HR we take IT security very seriously. This includes ensuring that our hosting environment has been audited and certified compliant with ISO/IEC 27001:2005.

Last week, we learned about a potential security threat called the Heartbleed bug. A flaw in the popular OpenSSL software used by many websites to encrypt traffic which allowed “security padlocks” to be picked by hackers. If you want more details, please visit:

Since learning about this potential threat, Better HR has taken action to ensure that our ultra-high IT security environment remains secure and that we have a “Heartbleed Safe Site”. This includes working closely with our IT partners to ensure that both the servers we use and the shared hosting accounts our customers access to manage HR in their businesses are safe.

As of 19 April 2014 we have not identified any security breaches. However in light of this new threat we have taken preventative action to ensure that all core services that may have been running the affected version of OpenSSL have been updated.

Since founding in 2006 Better HR has never had an IT security breach. We are very proud of this achievement and we will continue to work proactively with our IT partners to ensure that this continues.
