The Team at Better HR are very excited to officially release the biggest upgrade to our cloud HR systems in the history of Better HR. More than just an upgrade this latest release includes a complete re-engineering of the Better HR platform to make it even better. We wanted to do more than just enable employers with a few tools. We wanted to empower users with more affordable and easy to use features and more scalable and compliant benefits. All at no additional cost.
Since 2007 Better HR has been widely recognised as Australia’s leading HR and employment relations service for employers. Today, we are trusted by thousands of users every day to help them manage people with confidence and to help them achieve compliance with some of the most complex employment laws in the world.
This upgrade delivers over 100 new or improved features to help you better manage HR. More features to help you save time and money, more features to help you avoid big fines and expensive employee claims and more features to help you maximise the performance of your people.
The first thing you’ll see when you login into Better HR now is the improved dashboard. Users will be familiar with the Hiring, Managing and Exiting modules in the main menu. But we’ve now added more modules including Safety, Advice and Support.
We’ve also added new drop down menus to each module so it’s faster to find and access the HR processes you need when you need them. We’ve also added more HR processes to help you ensure compliance in areas such as Preparing to Engage Workers, Position Descriptions, Right to Work, Working with Children, Paying Workers and Retirement.
The new Safety module includes processes to help users manage hazards, incidents and injuries, consultations and workers compensations claims. There are also more than 30 safety compliance tools to help users manage day to day tasks to ensure a safer workplace and compliance with Australian workplace health and safety (WHS) laws.
‘Employee Files’ are now called ‘People Files‘ to reflect the inclusion of employees, candidates, contractors and volunteers. We’ve also built an improved tab based layout to make it easier to manage worker-related information such as Contact Details, Job Details and Payroll Details. We’ve also added new fields for recording Right to Work Visa Checks and Working with Children Checks.
The new Training tab allows users to manage training and qualification records for people including Course Names, Course Provider, Level of Study and Status.
The new Licenses tab allows users to manage license and other industry based credentials records such as Car Drivers Licenses, Rigid Vehicle Licenses, Plant & Machinery Licenses and Safety or High Risk Licenses.
Our users have been telling us how important the Notes and Alerts tools are so now we have made these features available to more subscribers. Now most users can records important notes for workers such as disciplinary discussions and performance observations quicly and easily. Most users can also use the alerts tool to set reminders for important events such as end of probation periods and performance reviews.
Our users also asked for the option to upload multiple documents for people at the same time. I’m excited to say that we have delivered on this great suggestion – it’s a simple feature that will save our users a lot of time.
To further help users access the growing number of features now available in the Better HR HR System we’ve transformed the old menu on the right hand side into a new menu at the top of the dashboard. This new top menu makes it faster to find what you need and easier to access the essential tools required on a day to day basis to manage HR tasks and ensure compliance with Australian employment laws.
The new Company Files section also allows HR Professional and above users to store their own documents safely and securely in the Better HR HR system.
The new Documents Library makes it quick and easy to access HR compliance tools to help with day to day HR management tasks. There are now over 150 letters, forms, templates, guides, checklists and policies connected to HR processes across our range of subscriptions. All verified by Clayton Utz, Australia’s leading independent law firm for over 180 years.
We’ve also added new Law Guides to help users access plain English information about legislation such as The Independent Contractors Act, Fair Work Act and relevant Workplace Health & Safety laws for each Australian state/territory.
Our new Advice tab includes faster access to the HR Advice Online service, as well as a new form to help users more easily classify workers under relevant Modern Awards. There is also a new Case History so users can see the HR cases they’ve submitted to our team of friendly HR experts.
The new Activity History on the dashboard provides users with a detailed compliance audit trail. As well as a history of which features they’ve accessed – this new audit trail also confirms when the feature was accessed and calculates the value received from their Better HR subscription.
The new HR Blog provides users with useful articles written by our team of knowledgable HR experts as well as the latest updates on events and changes to Australia’s increasing complex employment laws that you need to know.
The new HR On-Demand tab allows users to access optional services if required such as our HR Consulting Service and HR Advice Hotline for urgent HR help.
This latest Better HR upgrade means users gain access to even more important HR tools and resources at a fraction of the cost of developing and keeping everything up to date and compliant themselves.
On top of the 100 new features now available to subscribers we are also working on more improvements and several exciting new features that will be released in the very near future.
