There have been significant changes to Modern Awards this year as a result of the 4-yearly review. This is in addition to the 1.75% increase to the National Minimum Wage which takes effect in three stages from 1/7/2020.

It is important to familiarise yourself with these Awards as some coverage clauses have changed (see Miscellaneous Award and Vehicle Repair, Service and Retail Award for example) and some Sunday penalty rates have been reduced (see General Retail Industry Award and Pharmacy Industry Award for example)
In addition to the above, the high-income threshold for unfair dismissal applications rises from $148,700 to $153,600 for claims after 1/7/2020, while the maximum compensation for unfair dismissal claims increases from $74,350 to $76,800.
